Motley Crue was a late addition to Heavy Metal Day at the '83 US Festival. Too Fast for Love had been out for a little while, but wasn't getting much attention. So, the band arrived as relative unknowns. Here is a shot of Nikki Sixx & Vince Neil backstage on May 29, 1983.
About Chris Deutsch
In the mid-1980s, Chris Deutsch published Front Row magazine in Denver, and did photography for a variety of other publications. For many years, he photographed almost every major show that came through Denver. His portfolio includes many great bands and performers at the peak of their careers: Van Halen, Kiss, Bon Jovi, U2, Iron Maiden & Elton John. Chris also photographed other performers like Motley Crue, Scorpions, Whitney Houston and Cyndi Lauper when they were just getting started.
