There’s only a few venues that can actually make a concert sound better. Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, CO is one of those. Listening to the bass guitar on the intro to “Walking On A Thin Line” by Huey Lewis & The News at Red Rocks in August of ’85 is maybe the best example I could ever give you what I’m talking about. Awesome show!
About Chris Deutsch
In the mid-1980s, Chris Deutsch published Front Row magazine in Denver, and did photography for a variety of other publications. For many years, he photographed almost every major show that came through Denver. His portfolio includes many great bands and performers at the peak of their careers: Van Halen, Kiss, Bon Jovi, U2, Iron Maiden & Elton John. Chris also photographed other performers like Motley Crue, Scorpions, Whitney Houston and Cyndi Lauper when they were just getting started. Sometimes there were surprises, such as when a relatively unknown band named Metallica opened for Ozzy Osbourne.
