Jack Russell's Great White headlined the show in December at Herman's Hideaway in Denver. The show was a mix of "Great Zeppelin" which started the show, and some classic Great White favorites which closed the show. Russell is truly one of the classic voices of 80's rock, and hits like "Mista Bone", "Rock Me" and "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" showed he's still got it. Interestingly, when first reviewing the photos, I did not pick this shot, but in looking at them a second time, I really like the back lighting.

In the mid-1980s, Chris Deutsch published Front Row magazine in Denver, and did photography for a variety of other publications. For many years, he photographed almost every major show that came through Denver. His portfolio includes many great bands and performers at the peak of their careers: Van Halen, Kiss, Bon Jovi, U2, Iron Maiden & Elton John. Chris also photographed other performers like Motley Crue, Scorpions, Whitney Houston and Cyndi Lauper when they were just getting started. Sometimes there were surprises, such as when a relatively unknown band named Metallica opened for Ozzy Osbourne.
